Chicken Biryani ( Bahrain style)

Ingredients

  1. Long grain rice – 1 kg
  2. Fresh chicken and cleaned – 1 kg
  3. Onion sliced chopped – 2 pieces
  4. Garlic/ginger paste – 1 table spoon
  5. Cardamom – 1 table spoon
  6. Turmeric – 1 table spoon
  7. Coriander powder – 1 table spoon
  8. Tomato chopped – 1 piece
  9. Green belly pepper chopped – 1 piece
  10. Salt – 1 table spoon
  11. Oil – As required
  12. Dried lemon – 1 piece

Instructions

  1. Deep fry chicken and keep aside.
  2. In a pan add oil , onion till golden color add pepper, tomato , garlic /ginger oaste , turmeric, cardamom, salt, coriander powder, and the deep fried chicken cover and let for 30mins to take the whole juicy flavors.
  3. Mean while in a pot add water and bring to boil , add pinch salt and 1Tsp oil. Add the washed rice ( not soaked ) let it boil for 10mins. Sieve the rice .
  4. In another cooking pot add first layer of rice ( half of rice ) and then add the chicken mixture and another layer of rice , let it cook for more 20mins at a very low heat . can be served with green salad or fresh yogurt , Enjoy !

Notes

  1. Chill before serving.
